Flower power!

Flower power!

Calm colours in the children's room but with colour. How do you do that?

Besides the furniture in the room, there are two other elements that determine the atmosphere: the floor and the walls.

Floor:

Floor, do you have a floor that doesn't look too busy and is the right color? Super nice, you don't have to do anything about it! If you have a floor that is not entirely to your taste, you can work with rugs. A large rug in the children's room is soft and also gives the necessary texture to the room (and then hides the floor a bit).

Action, Ikea, Karwei, Kwantum and other budget stores often have thin rugs that can fill a large surface without costing the earth.

Even with a beautiful floor, a rug can add a lot in terms of color and texture to the room. For example, see the photo and imagine the rug gone - it looks a bit bare! If it is a room where your child also plays, then also think about a nice play mat - there are several options (from budget to more exclusive).

Walls

For the walls, you can choose to leave the walls white or work with a neutral paint color - here I used some leftover paint to mix a new color.

An extra tip to add colour without painting the wall is to use a mosquito net. A mosquito net provides a large colour surface and can therefore be a good solution if you do not want to or cannot paint the walls. Of course, always pay attention to the safety of hanging it and whether your child will pull on it.

You can also work with the stickers to create a wallpaper pattern, for example (check this blog for tips) or to give a piece of wall something extra.
