Circus tent met olifanten

Circus tent with elephants

Circus! one of the new trends in children's rooms. But how do you make a tent on the wall?

Get the supplies:

Pencil, eraser, masking tape, brushes, paint, a measuring tape and possibly a spirit level

Start sketching

Make a sketch

Draw the tent on the wall - use the measuring tape to make 5 squares of 20cm for example if you want the tent to be 1m wide.

To paint

Only start painting when you are really happy with your sketch on the wall, occasionally looking from a distance helps enormously! You can choose to paint the tent freehand or work with masking using masking tape.

Tip: If you use masking tape, the trick for straight lines is to first paint the edges of the tape with the color of the wall. So do you have a white wall? Then you first paint all the lines of the masking tape with the white paint, if there is paint underneath, it is the white paint. You put the color (when it is dry) on top of it, so that no colored paint gets under the masking tape and you have a straight line. (after the white paint is dry, I paint over it with pink/red)

Tip: use tester pots for the tent for paint (or paint you have lying around). One pot is more than enough. In the photo you see the duo elephants at the circus tent
