Over forest and bear
Have you ever forgotten a good friend's birthday? Well, it happened to me. Oops! But, as is often the case with good fortune, it resulted in forest and bear as it is now!

Forest and bear is a webshop with handmade wall stickers that turn the nursery, children's room or any other room into a stylish and personalized space. And that in no time! Okay, almost. The wall stickers are for children, but they are stylish through and through and each one is an eye-catcher that will make you happy as a parent. Two birds with one stone! A wall sticker on the wall is a simple and affordable way to give the room the finishing touch. Or also proverbial: the dots on the i, the icing on the cake.
I design the wall stickers myself with much love or they are designed by another designer. The whole process is handmade and every order is made especially for you.
The sentence: 'Wow, now the room is completely finished!' makes me the happiest. When a customer says that to me, I am a happy person. A wall sticker is of course just a wall sticker, but there is definitely something behind it. The feeling of being ready, after you have decorated the nursery from top to bottom. Making your child happy, because he or she has been given the room of his or her dreams. Making a statement in the desired space. All consequences of the carefully chosen wall stickers. They are small actions, but with a greater impact than you would initially think.
How it started
About that forgotten birthday. Because yes, why did it result in forest and bear? Well, after that incident I decided that it should never happen to me again and went hunting for a birthday calendar. That seemed like a handy tool. But to my great disappointment I could not find a calendar that met my wishes (and budget). I decided to use my skills (I have graphic experience from my education) and designed my own birthday calendar. I enjoyed the process of designing and thinking so much that I continued with it. Only they did not become calendars but wall stickers!
A little about me
Together with my husband Lars and two sons of 6 and 4 I live in Groningen, we just moved and got the key to our DIY house. This is not the first time we are going to renovate a house! I really enjoy renovating a house and furnishing every room and space stylishly and to our taste.
What else makes me happy? Children who sleep in, that is a real blessing! Haha, just kidding of course. I can really enjoy my children by, for example, walking together and then getting something tasty. Nice! I also love going to the sea and feeling the fresh wind in my hair while the children let off steam. It gives me peace and relaxation.
Believe it or not, I am allergic to bananas. Ha, I am probably the only person on this planet! The smell alone makes me feel sick and that can be quite difficult when it is the favorite snack of your two children…
I have an orchid named after me. My mother worked in an orchid company and about 20 years ago they named their new varieties after women. So I am one of them and I find that a great honor!
And one last random fact: I used to want to be an archaeologist, until I found out that it means sitting in a muddy hole for days and having a lot of patience. I thought: hop, shovel in and you'll find a dino, but alas, that doesn't work that way.
